APP REVIEW: Infinite Painter

Infinite Painter

An almost-all-there effort that's worth the free version download to see if you can live with its performance issues.

At times, this app will thrill you, with crisp, well-drawn, pressure-responsive lines (this is one of those few apps that really captures what happens if you press down hard), with its cornucopia of tools, and its extremely fast and responsive artboard rotate and zoom function, but at other times it will make you feel like your hardware just isn't fast enough. Although curves are well-sampled (or at least averaged so you don't get polygonalization), in some tools and modes you can practically see the stroke trying to keep up with your hand. Additionally, the whole rationale for having a compass with rotate mode on a tablet is rather skimpy (yeah, I know, you can run this on a PC or laptop, too).
